Dining at MBL with Food Allergies!

We ask that all guests with special dietary needs communicate their dietary restrictions and requirements to the MBL Dining Team. We take pride in serving you wholesome ingredients, preparing recipes accurately, and providing accurate information related to food allergies. From our chefs to our front-line servers, we work carefully to address food allergies, intolerance, and other special dietary needs.

We want to meet one-on-one with you if you have any individual dining needs to ensure that your dining experience is safe, delicious, and social. If you have a food allergy/special dietary concern, please contact our dining team at Dining@MBL.edu to set up a meeting.

Allergen Free Options!

Simple 7 is our allergen-friendly dining station in the Swope Dining Hall for our customers with food allergies or gluten intolerance. This station offers food free from peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, milk, eggs, and gluten-containing ingredients. Our staff members are carefully trained to avoid cross-contact with food allergens. Separate equipment, storage areas, utensils and preparation areas minimize the chances of gluten and allergens in our Simple 7 foods.

Please note that during our off-peak season, these allergen friendly menu options from Simple 7 may be offered at alternative stations. Please ensure you speak with our team members and ALWAYS inform your server of your food allergy prior to ordering.

Simple Zone is our allergen free station where you can help yourself to gluten free and peanut and tree nut free breads, pastries and desserts. At this station we provide safe designated toasters and microwave for all of your needs.

In addition to Simple 7 and Simple Zone, we offer many different menu options that are allergen friendly at our stations throughout the dining hall. All of our menus are posted with the identification of the known major allergens. Please just let our team members know of your allergy prior to ordering.
