Institutional Statement

91�鶹���� in Woods Hole has a long and distinctive history of convening the world’s most accomplished scientists for the purpose of discovery and innovation. Since 1888, the 91�鶹���� has hosted thousands of researchers, students and faculty from all over the world. It is precisely this wealth in perspectives and experiences that makes our community unique. For this reason, the lab strives to maintain a welcoming environment where diverse perspectives and experiences are combined with an atmosphere of collaboration and training in efforts to advance scientific inquiry and discovery.

This commitment to diversity and inclusion demands that the MBL create a climate that represents the organization’s values of equity, civility, respect, and safety. The world-renown research and education conducted at the MBL can only thrive when everyone feels welcome and respected. An atmosphere of diversity and inclusion lays the foundation for empowering students, faculty, and staff to work hard and to work together to achieve shared goals.
