Below is a list of High Hazard chemicals, "P" coded wastes, regulated by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Last Amended Feb 27, 2004. Please take a moment to scan this list for any chemicals you typically use in the course of your research, or that may be sitting in your chemical inventories.

MBL investigators should use caution when ordering these substances, assuring that only amounts specifically required for experiments. Disposal costs for these chemicals may be extremely high and may be passed on to the end user. Further, MBL is permitted to have an extremely limited amount of these "P-coded" wastes in our Main Storage area. Before adding a new chemical to your labs inventory, please review this list and ensure that your new chemical is not listed.

Chemicals that ARE on this list should be ordered through the stockroom only, to ensure that campus-wide inventories of these products is kept to a minimum.
